Bright Food Group unveiled a "Smart Chain" global sourcing platform during the second China International Import Expo, as part of its efforts to bring global premium food offerings to Chinese consumers.

With a peculiar focus on high-protein food categories, the platform will leverage Bright Food’s multiple access points in China to further unlock the domestic market, and broaden foreign channel to the country through a one-stop solution, according to company president Liu Ping.

"Through the establishment of The Smart Chain, we aim to facilitate simplified procedures for global buyers and sellers and accelerate the introduction of top-notch imported foods," he said.

Bright Food International Trade (Shanghai) Co Ltd, a Bright Food subsidiary, is responsible for matchmaking. It will establish a big data platform in order to keep track of deals signed at the CIIE.

Pulling triple duty as exhibitors, procurers and service providers, Bright Food and its related companies showcased over 10 types of high-end food products — from dairy products, fruits and vegetables to wine and beverages. It even exhibited a bluefin tuna weighing up to 250 kilograms to draw in onlookers.

The 2,200 square-meter booth has attracted over 60 enterprises and partners from 19 countries and regions.
