¡¡¡¡UIBE Non-Degree Students Scholarship

¡¡¡¡he Rules are formulated in the spirit of Regulations on Reward to International Students in UIBE and combined with the practical situations of Non-degree program International Students in UIBE.

¡¡¡¡Article 1 Examination and Appraisal Principles

¡¡¡¡To reach the objective of encouraging the advanced, rewarding the excellent, and improving comprehensive ability of Non-degree program International Students, all the prizes shall be examined and appraised strictly by the principles of publicity, fairness and impartiality.

¡¡¡¡Article 2 Examination and Appraisal Departments

¡¡¡¡1. School of International Education shall be responsible for organizing and managing the appraisal and evaluation of the prizes;

¡¡¡¡2. Student Affairs Department and Office of Academic Administration of the School of International Education shall take specific responsibilities for the recommendation and registration of students applying for the prizes;

¡¡¡¡3. The appraisal committee shall be made up by members from related departments of School of International Education.

¡¡¡¡Article 3 Examination and Appraisal Objects

¡¡¡¡International students of Non-degree program who are registered in UIBE and have been studying in UIBE for over one semester (including one semester). Students with an approved temporary or permanent suspension of schooling are not included.

¡¡¡¡Article 4 Prize Categories, Number of the Awarded and Application Conditions

¡¡¡¡1. Prize for Exceptional Studies: classified as Yearly Prize for Exceptional Studies and Term Prize for Exceptional Studies

¡¡¡¡1) Yearly Prize for Exceptional Studies: the prize is used to reward those Non-degree program students who have been studying in UIBE continuously for over one year (including one year) and perform well in their studies. It is graded into first prize and second prize.

¡¡¡¡Application Conditions:

¡¡¡¡First prize: the general ranking of all the subjects in a school year among all the candidates is within the top 5%;

¡¡¡¡Second prize:

¡¡¡¡the general ranking of all the subjects in a school year among all the candidates is within the top 15%; Note: the grade of each subject of the awarded candidate should be above 80 in principle.

¡¡¡¡2) Term Prize for Exceptional Studies (7% of all the students): the prize is used to encourage those international students who study hard and perform well during the whole term.

¡¡¡¡Application Conditions:

¡¡¡¡¢Å full attendance( no absence from class without permission, no more than 10 classes absence with permission in one semester);

¡¡¡¡¢Æ good prestige in class;

¡¡¡¡¢Ç grades of all subjects are at top in the class.

¡¡¡¡2. Prize for the Activists of Social Movements(5% of all the students): the prize is used as incentive to encourage students who are keen on participation of various activities organized by the university and School of International Education and have outstanding performance; Note: students awarded this prize should have their grades of all subjects over 75.

¡¡¡¡3. Prize for Outstanding Student Cadres: the prize is used to reward those who are ardent to serve for the students, positive to coordinate their efforts to help teachers with all kinds of jobs and have dedication spirits, especially the monitors of each class. Note: students awarded this prize should have their grades of all subjects over 75.

¡¡¡¡4. Prize for Advanced Classes: the prize is used to reward those classes, with responsible monitors, that possess good general mood for studies, consciously abide the rules and principles of the university, and vigorously take part in various activities organized by the school and departments.

¡¡¡¡5. Special Prize: the prize is used to reward those students who are active in participation in big contests out of the university (e.g: HSK and other sport games, etc.), and have excellent performances;

¡¡¡¡Note: A. all the above prizes shall be judged according to students¡¯ academic achievements and study performance and appraised from the top, each student is only available for one prize.

¡¡¡¡B. if no students are competent for the prize, then there will be a vacancy for it.

¡¡¡¡Article 5 Rewarding Methods

¡¡¡¡1. Yearly Prize for Exceptional Studies: first prize: 1500RMB/ per person Second prize: 800RMB/per person

¡¡¡¡2. Term Prize for Exceptional Studies: 800RMB/per person

¡¡¡¡3. Prize for the Activists of Social Movements: 300RMB/per person

¡¡¡¡4. Prize for Outstanding Student Cadres: 500RMB/per person

¡¡¡¡5. Prize for Advanced Classes: 1000RMB/per class

¡¡¡¡6. Special Prize: rewarding methods to be decided based on specific situation

¡¡¡¡Article 6 Process of Appraisal

¡¡¡¡1. The initial candidates of the prize for exceptional studies will be recommended by the teacher according to the students¡¯ performance and general academic achievements; the initial candidates of the prize for activists of social movements and the special prizes will be recommended by the Students Affairs Department and the Office of Academic Administration;

¡¡¡¡2. The Students Affairs Department and the Office of Academic Administration shall coordinate to make first appraisal of the initial candidates and decide the final candidates;

¡¡¡¡3. The appraisal committee shall give an objective and impartial evaluation and examination, then bring up the name list of the awarded;

¡¡¡¡4. The names of the awarded will be announced publicly on the university website and school¡¯s public board. Anyone who has objections about the candidates should propose to the committee before the deadline;

¡¡¡¡5. The names of the awarded shall become effective after the objection date.

¡¡¡¡Article 7 Specific Timetable

¡¡¡¡1. The appraisal of each prize shall start immediately after the final examinations in each semester;

¡¡¡¡2. The prize will be declared on the ceremony of graduation and the reward and certificate shall be granted at the same time. No one but the student awarded is qualified to receive the reward and certificate, unless there is a special occasion. The prize shall be considered abandoned if no one comes to receive it.

¡¡¡¡Article 8 The Rules shall become effective on the date of promulgation.

¡¡¡¡Article 9 The right of interpretation and explanation of the detailed rules is reserved by the School of International Education, UIBE.
